Changes to the website will appear on this page, most recent first.

19 April 2001

The site was partially restored to include original logo and mapped entry page, although verbose "Front Page" generated HTML was replaced with hand written html and more compressed images to enable faster downloading. A simpler mapping program was used to enable the graphic links from the "navlogo" and the buttons were replaced with ordinary links. These buttons are quite common and use up a lot of download time and web space. In the web master's view they are "unnecessarily pretty".

News and pictures of the Venturist land is given under news and may not have been present on the old site.

The guest book has been replaced by an email list which will give announcements of changes to the site and also enable people to discuss points raised in articles in The Venturist.

It is technically possible to include the text of all previous issues of the newsletter, (probably without the graphics) but regretfully most of it appears to be unavailable in text format. Volunteers with old copies and with scanning machines and ocr software are invited to volunteer to scan them in and email them as text files to the webmaster. Please do not format them with word processors or clever OCR programs designed to make them into HTML. Select "plain text" as output and make sure it is spell checked.

The article about N F Fyodorov can now be found from the links page.

In order to reduce costs so that donations and subscriptions can be spent on matters most pertinent to the aims of Venturism, the site was for a while based on a Yahoo free site. Therefore an advertising logo appeared on many pages. Therefore there is now the Venturist logo with the Sierpinski Gasket fractal and the ankh in the space at the top right hand corner where this advertising appeared, so that the advertising did not obscure the text. The server for the site is now donated by Ian Thomas, http://www.ianthomas.info, and there is no advertising.
