I have tried to remove the many spelling mistakes and attempts to write the narrative in local dialect, in order to make the text easer and thus more entertaining to read. I understand that copies of the original book can still be found in Cornish studies libraries throughout the county, if you want to read it in its original format.

The picture I took myself, in June 2001. The sketches were made in Europe in the mid 19th century, so are a little later than the period depicted. But I doubt that they are that innaccurate and I hope that they add atomsphere.
