This is an experimental Active-X program to illustrate the equilibrium coder. As started, you can double click the black square to make the coder encode the digit set in the sample box. You will find that if you set it to encode say 7 the result will be 7. But then try varying any of the parameters and see what happens. This is how Alec Reeves worked. It is somewhat easier by using the "pan mode", as far as I know only briefly tried at STL.
Active-X seems somewhat limited, with no plotting routines, but you can see what higher numbers of digits do up to 5 in the pan mode, and any higher you have to use a Visual basic implementation of this program.
